Cameo Gallery is well into its final week, and is going out with a collection of solid acts to round things out. Check out the lineup in detail on their site. Tickets are still available for all shows.
Tonight: Mr Twin Sister + Ava Luna + ???; We’ve lionized both these bands as some of the creme de la creme when it comes to success for NYC’s independent bands. And a mystery guest on top of that, who is playing last, is quite curious indeed.
Friday: Eternal Summers (& Softspot, Little Racer, Monograms). Another headliner and friends we’ve photographed with joy.
Friday (late): Presented by Jukely, It’s The Juan McLean, another mystery guest, & DJ Evan Michael, who has booked Cameo for as long as I can remember, he’ll be working The Good Room in the future.
Saturday: Caveman + Dave Harrington Group (of Darkside) + WALTZ + HEART ACHE. Caveman are a stellar pick for the last live show of the venue and we couldn’t be happier to stop in for it. Expect another article of the properly eulogize the venue around this show.
Saturday (late): St Lucia (dj) + Plastic Plates; a fitting close considering the venue’s majority of electronic dance evenings.
Speaking of electronica, Cameo hosted a night of challenging and engaging synthesis earlier this month that we were hyped about. Brooklyn’s Kodacrome & Kodomo repped the locals, and we saw some curious, adept visitors in Seattle’s Symbion Project and Richmond’s Nerve Leak.
