If there is anything that is synonymous with a typical Long Island summer, it is both “beer” and “music”. Long Island’s craft beer and music scene have had whirlwind years. So there is no better time to discover Beer Fields.
Beer Fields is an annual one-day festival that combines the appreciation for craft beer with the local Long Island music scene. The festival takes place the Brookhaven Amphitheater in Selden. Because of its outdoor venue design, there is an opportunity to be close to the stage or spend quality time with an ale on the general admission fields. While this year’s music line-up is currently in-development, both Matisyahu and Ballyhoo! have been officially announced as this year’s headliners. Confirmed local acts include: Nonstop to Cairo, Funkin’-A, Oogie Wawa, The Warden F.A.M.E. and Soul Junkies.
While some bars and venues lack any variety in their drink offerings, Beer Fields offers hundreds of beers from 80+ different breweries. That list is simply too long to include but local favorites Brooklyn, Blue Point, Captain Lawrence, Great South Bay and Keegan Ales are just some of those expected to show up. The mouth-watering beer list can be found here.
The festival takes place on Saturday, June 21 from 4:00 – 11:30. Each ticket includes general admission and a commemorative tasting glass with access to free samples until 7:00 PM. The rain/shine festival is strictly 21+ to attend/drink and much of the proceeds go to the Patchogue Rotary Club.
